Travertine dining table "Il Colonnato" Mario Bellini for Cassina

This unique round dining table was designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina, an Italian design from 1970s. Mario Bellini (1935) is an Italian designer and architect. When designing the “Il Colonnato” dining table, Bellini drew inspiration from basic architectural elements. The table’s design mimics a colonnade of classical architecture, a reference to a series of columns supporting a portico, in this case a tabletop.

The round table top is elegantly rounded at the edges and is supported by three solid cylindrical column legs. The column legs make the table unique and give it a sculputral character.

This model was only produced for a short time, from 1977 to 1980, which certainly makes this a collectible. The dining table is in very good condition.
