Dining Table 18 - Recup G - Enzo Schoenaers
Dining Table 18 - Recup G - Enzo Schoenaers
This dining table is made exclusively of 18 mm pine slats. The table top consists of 36 mm by 18 mm slats laid on their side and glued together. Due to the many thin slats of 18 mm and the particular way they are arranged, the tabletop is not affected by the internal movement of the wood.
A wooden grid of 4 rows of 18 mm slats is attached right under the tabletop. Long wooden tables necessarily need a thick tabletop to bridge the span in a stableway. The grid gives Tafel 18 a spatial alternative, compared to this heavy span.
Each leg of the table contains 4 beams, which in turn consists of 4 slats of 18 mm glued together. As with the tabletop, the bundling of these thin slats creates a sturdy, stable beam. The 4-part legs are attached to the tabletop as well as to the corners of the grid. As a result, this is beneficial for the stability of the table.
As a finish, a white oil has been chosen.
The Recup G furniture collection is entirely designed and made by Enzo Schoenaers.
All pieces of furniture are constructed from recycled wooden slats. By applying different types of wood joints and construction techniques, combined with a profound knowledge of the wood, the furniture is characterized by open, sturdy structures that are solely made of wood. In fact, not a single piece of furniture contains a screw, nail or other connecting material.
Every single piece of furniture consists of slats with an identical size, as indicated by the name of the furniture.
We offer you this prototype, but you can also order more pieces, in different dimensions, on request.
