This unique desk was designed by Willy Van Der Meeren in the early 1950s and manufactured by Tubax.
Van Der Meeren designed this kind of desks for the private market.
The black lacquered metal frame is sophisticated made. On the back side is a hidden layer.
On the front side are 2 metal drawers with a grey lacquered wooden front.
The top in natural wood veneer has a nice patina. This rare desk is in very good vintage condition.
Willy Van Der Meeren (1923 – 2002) played a prominent role in the Belgian furniture design of the 1950s. From 1951 to 1958 he designed for Tubax a whole catalogue of furniture for “the contemporary home”.
