Bowl - Foglia - by Lino Sabattini for Christofle France

This elegant leaf-shaped bowl – Foglia – was designed by the Italian artist Lino Sabattini for Christofle in France. It can be dated in the 1950s.
In the 1920s, Christofle created ‘Gallia’, a new alloy similar to pewter, but more durable and less expensive to manufacture and plate.
Since the 1930s Christofle attracted well-known designers such as Gio Ponti, Lino Sabatini, Tapio Wirkkala, Gae Aulenti, …
The Foglia was designed by Lino Sabatini.
It is an elegant design in silver-plated metal.
The overall condition is very good. On the detail photo’s you see some small scratches, normal for its age and use.
The Foglia is marked.
