Scavo Murano Glass Swan by Gino Cenedese
Scavo Murano Glass Swan by Gino Cenedese
This Murano glass swan with scavo finish is completely handmade in the late 1950s by the historical glass workshop Gino Cenedese e Figlio. Cenedese was famous for the use of the scavo technique, which was first introduced at his workshop in the late 1940s and then developed through the years, and still distinguishes the company production among other glass producers. The scavo finish, with its matte patina and dark spots, makes this piece unique. The scavo finish is meant to resemble the excavation of archeological remains: the glass surface, coarse to the touch, is the result of the application of salts and oxidants scattered on the hot glass.
This glass sculpture is in perfect condition, it is marked.
