Red chair A by Lucien Engels, 1957

In 1954 Lucien Engels designed the holiday home for children ‘Emile Vandervelde II’ in Oostduinkerke, Belgium.
It was an amazing overall project: he designed the buildings, the interior and the furniture as well.
Engels used powerfull colors for the children.
The holiday home was shameless demolished in 1995. Only a few chairs, tables and cabinets were saved…
We offer you 2 original chairs, type A. Engels designed those chairs for the dining room for children.
The chairs are made of beech wood. The backrests were painted in strong colors and have a asymmetrical opening for the hands.
Both chairs are in very good condition with normal signs of age and use. The backrests are repaint in their original color.
