Rare Wardrobe Cabinet by Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax
Rare Wardrobe Cabinet by Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax
This wardrobe cabinet was designed by the Belgian architect and designer Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax in the early 1950s.
It is a classic example of Mid-Century Belgian social furniture design. This wardrobe was designed for the private market.
Unique is the special metal base structure.
This wardrobe cabinet has 2 lacquered metal sliding doors with the elegant wooden handels. The body is made of a black lacquered metal frame with wooden panels.
Inside there is a hanging-rod and 3 metal shelves.
This cabinet can be used as a wardrobe or for a variety of other storage needs.
It is in good original condition, it has some scratches and spots, normal for its age and use.
The doors still have their original blue and white paint, with small restorations at the bottom of the doors, executed by the previous owner.
We’ve cleaned the cabinet and let it in its used condition as it should be for a vintage item.
