Rare Desk by Willy Van Der Meeren
This elegant desk was designed by Willy Van Der Meeren in the early 1950s and manufactured by Tubax.
Van Der Meeren designed this kind of furniture for the private market.
The light grey lacquered metal legs and drawer unit are sophisticated made. The desk is finished with birch plywood.
The top was used intensively, it is still original but restored. This rare desk is in very good authentic condition. It is a collector’s item.
Willy Van Der Meeren (1923 – 2002) played a prominent role in the Belgian furniture design of the 1950s. From 1951 to 1958 he designed for Tubax a whole catalogue of furniture for “the contemporary home”.
