Palm Spring Floor Lamp by Matteo Thun

This amazing Palm Spring floor lamp was designed by Matteo Thun and Maurizio Favetta in 1990.
Mattio Thun was an associate of the Memphis design group in the early 1980s. The exciting postmodern ideas of these years proved influential in his subsequent career.
Thun’s work is driven by the search for sophistication and subtle irony, which makes him something of a design dandy. This Palm Spring lamp is a nice example of this.
It is made of natural anodized aluminum on a grey ABS base.
It has a double switch which give you the opportunity to use the ‘up-lighter’ and the ‘stem-lighter’ separately or together. This rare floor lamp is in very good vintage condition.
