Modernist Tubular Cantilever Chair, 1930s

This great tubular cantilever chair can be dated in the early 1930s. Since Mart Stam invented the cantilever chair in 1926, a lot of designers experimented with this new design.

This anonymous design is really special because of the armrests that go through the wooden seat. The modulated seat is made of solid wood, the modulated back rest is made of plywood. The armrests are finished with solid wood.  This great modernist chair is in very good condition.
