Industrial Desk by Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax
This beautiful desk was designed by Willy Van Der Meeren in the early 1950s and manufactured by Tubax.
Van Der Meeren designed this kind of desks for schools.
The black lacquered metal frame is sophisticated made. The top in natural wood is covered with formica with a dark grey and white geometric pattern.
Both desks are in good vintage condition. They were used in a school and show signs of age and use. The top of each desk has a small damage and the metal bases have some rust.
Willy Van Der Meeren (1923 – 2002) played a prominent role in the Belgian furniture design of the 1950s. From 1951 to 1958 he designed for Tubax a whole catalogue of furniture for “the contemporary home”.
