Fabiaan Van Severen fireplace and movable wall

This is a unique and impressive fireplace design by the Belgian furniture designer Fabiaan Van Severen.

The design of this fireplace consists of two parts: a cylinder shape where the fire pit sits and a curved steel wall element. Both elements are geometric shapes that interact beautifully to each other. The cylinder that stands prominently in the room as a scaled column is surrounded by a slender curved wall. Together they architecturally form an interesting space that is also adaptable. The curved wall element is on wheels and thus can be moved, making the space around the fireplace smaller or larger as desired. This element makes it possible to create a more intimate space around the fireplace in a larger room. The central cylindrical element is also adaptable. Which like the large wall element can rotate around the fire, but on a smaller scale.

This fireplace is made of steel plates which slightly reflects the surroundings. Which gives it a special effect when the flames of the fire reflected in the different elements of this unique design.

The fireplace has a diameter of 1,5 m and is 4,75 m high. The wall is 2,55 cm high and 8 m long.
