Clair-Obscur Sofa by Bataille & ibens for Bulo
This two-seater sofa was designed by the Belgian architect duo Claire Bataille and Paul ibens. They designed the sofa for a private project in 1975. The Clair-Obscur sofa was manufactured first by Durlet and later by Bulo from 1999 until 2009. Now it is out of production.
Bataille & ibens are known for their minimalist design without compromising on functionality. The shapes and lines are purified until only the essence remains with emphasis on geometric shapes.
This sofa is made of wood veneer. The seat and roller cushions are made of black leather. The other cushions are in textile.
This sofa is in good vintage condition, it is a special piece of Belgian design, out of production.
