Canapé Clair-Obscur - Sofa by Bataille & ibens for Bulo
Canapé Clair-Obscur - Sofa by Bataille & ibens for Bulo
This tree-seater sofa was designed by the Belgian architect duo Claire Bataille and Paul ibens. They designed the sofa for a private project in 1975. The Clair-Obscur sofa was manufactured first by Durlet and later by Bulo form 1999 until 2009.
Bataille & ibens are known for their minimalist design without compromising on functionality. The shapes and lines are purified until only the essence remains with emphasis on geometric shapes.
This sofa is made of wood veneer. The seat and roller cushions are in black leather and the other cushions are in textile.
This sofa is in good vintage condition, it is a special piece of Belgian design, out of production.
Bulo manufactures high quality office and home furniture, assembled with care and craftsmanship in Belgium.
We also have a Clair-Obscur two-seater sofa available from the same interior.
