Postmodern Table Lamp Shogun by Mario Botta
Postmodern Table Lamp Shogun by Mario Botta
This table lamp Shogun was designed by Mario Botta for Artemide, Italy in 1986.
The postmodern Swiss architect and designer Mario Botta is renowned for his use of striking geometric forms. His Shogun lamp reflects his belief that lighting should create an atmosphere through its use of shadows. He also considers it is important for a light to look good even when it is not switched on. This black and white striped table lamp with manipulatable metal shades is a great example of this. The perforated shades allow you to alter the positioning of the intricate shadows created on the surrounding walls, helping you get the mood just right.
The lamp is made of lacquered metal. This lamp is an early production of 1986. It is in very good authentic condition. The white is evenly yellowed.
